What is PolyAcry Gel?
PolyAcry Gel is the latest innovation introduced to the market in terms of nail products. It is also known as Polygel or Acrygel.
This product is a hybrid between acrylic and gel. This way, we get the best of each. PolyAcry Gel gives nails the hardness and strength of acrylic and the flexibility of gel. At Seena Owell we have 6 different shades, including clear, white, and camouflage tones to build the nail base with a natural look.
This product is shaped with a synthetic brush, moistened with a liquid called SOLUTION. Thanks to this combination, the product won’t run and will be very easy to mold to extend or correct the natural nail. It is odor-free, unlike acrylic. Filing is much easier and lighter. The dust produced remains less suspended in the air compared to acrylic dust.
A UV/LED lamp is required to cure this type of nails. Therefore, it allows you to shape the nail with no time limit since this product does not air-dry.
Products needed for professional nail gel
This technique requires some essential products:
- Base One Primer: A primer with reinforced adhesion that completely removes any traces of oil and water from the nail, leaving it in perfect condition so that any product applied afterward adheres better.
- Base coat: This base is a light, clear gel that helps prepare the nail so PolyAcryl Gel adheres better, making it easier to build the nail.
- PolyAcryl gel: A product with the strength of gel and acrylic, free of toxic fumes and easy to use. It can be used to strengthen the nail and also to build it. Available in 5 different shades.
- Solution: A liquid product with a very pleasant scent. To achieve the desired nail shape, the PolyAcryl Gel must be molded with a brush moistened in Solution until the design desired by the client is achieved.
How to use PolyAcryl Gel for professionals
You need to lightly file the nail surface before applying PolyAcryl Gel, using a 100/100 grit file to make the surface porous and prevent product lifting.
After building the nails, you must cure the product under a UV/LED lamp. Once the product is fully cured (2 minutes in UV or 30 seconds in LED), wipe the sticky residue off the nail with a lint-free pad soaked in Solution. Next, you only need to file and shape the nail and apply permanent polish.
To work with this product you need a synthetic brush. At Seena Owell we have the perfect brush with two different ends. One end is used to take the product from the jar and place it on the nail, and the other end is a synthetic brush that won’t absorb product.
At Seena Owell we recommend doing all your manicure work with nitrile gloves to prevent infections, contagion, and allergies. You’ll find them in our tools and accessories category along with everything you need to deliver a perfect manicure that will delight all your clients.
Frequently asked questions about Gel Nails
What are gel nails?
Gel nails are a type of material used to build a nail extension. This adds length and thickness to the natural nail. To work with this technique you need to purchase special products and, above all, complete professional training so the results are the desired ones.
How to remove gel nails?
When it comes to nails built with gel, the only way to remove them is with an e-file and a specialized bit, or alternatively by filing down until you leave a very thin layer of product. Gel cannot be dissolved with remover. These are the only ways to remove it. You can find these products in the Files and bits category on our website.
Which is better, gel nails or acrylic?
The differences between gel nails and acrylic nails are not obvious at first glance, but we’ll explain them professionally. Gel is a kind of “styling gel” that cures under LED/UV light until it becomes completely hard. This technique is more suitable for very hard nails because it is a flexible material. Acrylic, on the other hand, is a mixture of powder and monomer that air-dries until it hardens. This type of material is much more resistant to impacts.
