It's no longer enough to achieve well-curled lashes, good extension retention or perfectly laminated brows. We're paying more and more attention to preparation, fibre care, hydration, precision and the quality of the finish.
This evolution has turned products that used to be complementary (or that weren't even part of many protocols) into great allies in the treatment room: products to use between the steps of a lift, nourishing serums for after a lamination, or tints that take brow design to another level.
In this article we look at some of these products that are gaining ground in professional lash and brow protocols, and that you may not have added to yours yet. We'll also tell you what each one brings, when it makes sense to add it, and how it can improve the treatment result.
2. Eyelash lift: we're no longer just after curl
The eyelash lift is probably one of the treatments where the evolution of protocols and the change in product formulation have been most noticeable. The goal is still to reshape the natural lash to achieve lift and curl, but today we pay much more attention to how the lash looks after the chemical process and how it will recover over time.
The arrival of new formulations, and especially the influence of Korean lift protocols, has put the focus on keeping the fibre flexible, hydrated and healthy-looking. That's why conditioning, moisturising and repairing products are no longer seen simply as an extra step at the end of the service.
Care products between steps
One of the most interesting additions is treatments that can be used during the protocol itself, between the different chemical phases.
Their role is to help keep the lash conditioned while it's more fragile and vulnerable, as well as to improve the fibre's appearance and manageability. It's important to use products specifically formulated for this stage of the lift, since not just any serum or nourishing treatment is suitable to apply between steps, and it needs to be done correctly. Brow lamination has also evolved. Compared with those early results with very fixed, perfectly aligned brows that looked almost glued to the skin, the current trend favours more natural, flexible finishes with movement, without losing control of the shape.
And technique alone isn't what achieves this. During lamination we chemically alter the hair's structure to give it a new direction, so the condition the fibre is left in after the process must also be part of the protocol.
Nourishing and conditioning after the chemical process
That's why products specifically formulated to use after lamination have gained ground, helping to condition, hydrate and improve the hair's appearance after treatment.

5. Brow design: colour is also part of the result
