If you've heard about a miracle treatment called Skin Needling, you've come to the right article.
What is Skin Needling?
The intact areas of skin around the punctures act as a reservoir of fibroblasts and stem cells needed for the regeneration of the adjacent wounds. This process generates new, healthy skin cells that replace the damaged ones.
It can be performed on the face or body, since it can be used to treat signs of ageing, wrinkles, scars, stretch marks and multiple pigmentation disorders, sun damage, hair loss, etc.
What is the Dermapen?
The Dermapen works on the skin with tiny micro-needles that carry out multiple punctures, creating micro-wounds.
The Dermapen has several speeds that we'll use depending on the depth we need for our treatment.
As beauticians we can only work up to the epidermal level, meaning we can't go beyond the basal layer, and our goal is to improve the absorption of active ingredients down to the epidermis. We should never exceed a depth of 0.50mm for facial treatments and 1.5mm for body treatments.
On the other hand, there's the medical treatment, in which the needles are inserted more deeply and reach into the dermis. This treatment can only be performed by doctors, which is why beauticians should never go beyond a depth of 1.5mm.
Skin Needling Treatment
To perform the treatment, we must use the dermapen and, depending on the treatment we're going to carry out, we'll use different types of needles. At Seena Owell we have a Dermapen with 6 speeds. As for depths, we can only use 4 and never exceed 1.5 mm in depth.
It's recommended to do one session a week for 4-6 weeks, after which a monthly maintenance session can be done.
With this treatment we can change the appearance and texture of the skin very visibly and quickly.
To perform the treatment, the first thing we must do is attach the head, turn the device over and press the corresponding button, which will make the needles start the vertical movements needed to perform the puncture. The movements generate small micro-wounds that our body will repair automatically, and we'll get an increase in collagen, elastin and the release of growth factors.
This translates into an increase in tone, elasticity and cell renewal. The dermapen shouldn't be used on dry skin; for this there are different types of active ingredients that will help boost the results of our treatment, which we'll tell you about below.
Active ingredients
At Seena Owell we work with IR Pharma, a Spanish company; these are sterile active ingredients that come with all quality assurance certificates. Biotechnological raw material is used in the manufacture of the vials.
We have different active ingredients available to treat different skin issues such as rosacea, sun spots, sagging, acne, etc.
Some of the active ingredients we have on our website are hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, kojic acid and retinol. If you need more information you can access it and see all the active ingredients we have available.
Aftercare
After each treatment it's very important to apply a sunscreen with the highest possible protection to the skin. Remember that after this type of procedure the skin can become irritated or even dry out, so we must prevent the sun's rays from penetrating and causing spots to appear.
It's essential that we explain the aftercare in detail to each client, because this will ensure your service has the expected effect. Remember that if they don't take care of their skin at home, the treatment you perform in your booth won't be enough.
That's why, at Seena Owell, we believe it's most advisable to recommend packages with at least 6 sessions and to gift the cream or cleanser for use at home.
