What is lash Primer?

Primer for lash services is a product specially formulated to prepare the lashes for eyelash extensions or lash lifting. It performs two basic functions:

• It helps remove all traces of oil and grease from the natural lash, leaving it completely clean and ready for any lash service.
• It contains a small concentration of alcohol that helps slightly dehydrate the natural lash, allowing the glue to bond the extension to the natural lash much better.

It's therefore an essential product, necessary for any eyelash extension service, whether it's the first application or a fill.

How is Primer used for eyelash extensions?

As we mentioned at the start, Primer for eyelash extensions is a fundamental product in this service, as it increases the effectiveness of the products and helps extend the lifespan of the extensions. But it's also very important to apply it correctly so it can perform its functions.

Steps to follow

Below, we detail the steps to follow when using this product:

• We start by removing any makeup residue from the lash. Removing makeup and thoroughly cleaning the lash is essential, since there's dirt in the environment that we can't see but that sticks to every part of our body. You need to use a makeup remover that isn't oily, because oil in these cases will prevent the glue from lasting.
• After removing eye makeup, it's advisable to dry the eyes to remove any moisture the product may have left.
• Once the lashes are completely clean, we start applying the Primer. A small amount of product should be applied, always on the surface of the natural lashes, from root to tip with gentle movements.
• It's important to let the product dry completely before applying the eyelash extensions so that it can perform its function correctly.

Types of Primer

At Seena Owell we offer three different types of Primer; all three perform their function perfectly and adapt to each person's way of working according to their preferences:

Brush-type Primer

It's applied with micro-brushes following the steps indicated in the previous point. We don't recommend applying this Primer with the applicator brush that comes with the bottle, to avoid cross-contaminating the product from one client to another.

Primer spray

It's applied with the multifunctional applicator along the natural lashes until they're completely clean. Also remember that when doing an extension fill, we need to prepare the natural lashes in the same way, applying the Primer to them as indicated.
